Young Mexicans are developing construction projects with a social and environmental impact. They have conceived a recyclable and sustainable building material based on Tetrapak.
The 2017 earthquake in Mexico in 2017 left many buildings and houses destroyed. A group of young Mexicans have been asking themselves many questions. How to propose a building system with social and environmental impact? How to use sustainable materials? Retrak was born from this reflection.
They decided to change the way educational spaces and social housing are built through design and construction. In Mexico, the team develops projects with local governments and private industry that seek to use sustainable designs and environmentally friendly materials. Projects are carried out as part of an exchange for the development of a local community. The team also provides waste management within the communities to benefit from Retrak’s expertise.
A recyclable and sustainable material
Retrak uses Polyaluminio, a non-structural building material for houses and other constructions. A sustainable material, made from recycled Tetrapak packaging. This material is certified as a sustainable solution by Solar Impulse.
In order to develop, Retrak validates international construction and impact certifications with the aim of becoming a reference in sustainable design and construction. With the ambition to develop abroad.
