Kouassi Kotchi Willy Ramses has developed a mobile app to bring West African farmers closer to innovative green agricultural techniques.
What is the best way to make the latest ecological agricultural methods more accessible to farmers in West Africa? Given the absence of local infrastructure and linguistic challenges, Kouassi Kotchi Willy Ramses came up with the idea of creating a mobile app available in local dialects. The BioSave App not only features a Bio Market packed with natural products, but also includes a Bio Garden service to help farmers adopt more sustainable techniques. These practical training sessions cover key topics like making natural fertilizers using local products. So far, the BioSave App is already making a difference in the Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of Congo, Togo and Cameroon.
Creating a virtuous cycle
Encouraging farmers to produce organically also make it easier for local populations to eat organic products and ensure a healthier, more balanced diet. Moving forwards, BioSave is looking to give local communities easier access by opening pilot shops to distribute local organic produce.
To achieve this and further promote organic farming, Kouassi Kotchi Willy Ramses wants to bring together different sustainable development players.
