Many of us feel we don’t have enough time to discuss the environment. Others that too much climate information is designed for specific target audiences. These observations inspired Guillaume Chevallier to create 10 at 10 For The Planet. At the Lycée Franco-Allemand in Fribourg where he teaches, Guillaume set up an online forum bringing together citizens from around the world to share good ideas, promote global citizenship and present sustainable school projects. 10 at 10 For The Planet is a weekly intergenerational, interdisciplinary meeting that lasts just 10 minutes. The online audience is diverse with teachers, students and other education stakeholders from different countries.

Sharing ideas about citizenship

Run in French, German or English, the meetings provide the opportunity to listen to project leaders, whether school students, teachers, university students or association managers. Once this shared moment is over, participants go back to their tasks or linger to ask questions.

Participants from Paris to Vienna, Dakar and Berlin have already taken part in this forum dedicated to school projects for the planet, which had over 2,500 visits in the first 5 months. Acting as melting pot of ideas, this initiative is bringing to life the Maori proverb, With your food basket and my food basket the people will thrive.

As not all participants are in the same time zone, the aim is to create more 10 at 10 For The Planet forums across the globe in different languages. By 2024, the team hope that everyone will have the opportunity to take part in 10 at 10 For The Planet.
